This, at the VERY end of another story in today's DN about Newbury's proposed Village at Little River:
Coincidentally, a meeting is scheduled for tomorrow afternoon for a committee formed by Newburyport Mayor John Moak to make a recommendation on whether the city will provide water and sewer service to the development.
How about a time and place, Daily News? And it's not listed in the schedule of public meetings on the city's website. You'd almost think they don't want anyone to attend ... AND there's no answer at the mayor's office.
This was my favorite part of the whole piece:
Selectmen Jennifer Wright, who had negotiated with the developers as the board's representative, said copies of the [agreement with the developer] document were e-mailed to both Story and Russo on Sunday. Story said he did not receive it. Russo said his copy arrived at an inopportune time.
"You e-mailed me during the Celtics game," he said, referring to the NBA championship series that is underway between the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers.
Hee hee; what a Yahoo (read Gulliver's Travels).

Err, huh? I can check my e-mail at my chosen time. Read, delete, refuse, forward or save for a more decided time. The game did not last into the meeting time, did it?
Very sorry to see 'POLITICS' enacted to get rid of any employee.
when that is the measure of decision making the public soon realizes that decisions are not made with fact, but feelings.
