From Ron Klodenski, of the ad hoc advisory committee dealing with landfill issues:
The owner of the Crow Lane landfill is proposing to release the City of Newburyport from environmental liability claims related to the contents of the Crow Lane landfill if the city will allow an increase in volume being trucked in and an increase in truck traffic from 35 to 70 trucks a day. (See letter; click to enlarge images.)
If you think agreeing to this is folly, be sure to say so at the Monday (June 2) city council meeting, 7 pm at City Hall.

So Jim Stiles was right on in his assessment, stated to the City Council on Monday night. We cannot allow these people to hold capping the landfill as ransom. You let us do this, we don't sue you.
