Loose ends

This has been a terribly boring week for news in Newburyport. Or so it would seem.

If I start blogging about the booths at 10 Center Street, Salemi will knock my block off. And Ari Herzog is on top of the strange bike racks. Not literally - at least I don't think so. Doesn't seem like Ari's style.

There are some loose ends of stories I wonder about, though:

What happened with the Washington lobbyist Newbury wanted to hire to put pressure on our state delegation to put pressure on the federal government to fund projects to save the Newbury town beach? And is this erosion/jetty damage causing problems for surf fishermen (that's not a loose end, it's just something I'm curious about)?

Did the city actually withdraw CPA funds from the group raising money to restore/rebuild the stadium at Newburyport High School?

What is going on with the Kelley School building? It's been months now since we've heard anything. Is it just going to sit there empty, is the city going to sell it ... couldn't the city have been renting it out or something over the past year?

What about the NRA plans to turn the two parking lots on the river into park? Wasn't there a meeting recently? If anyone from the NRA is reading this, please send an update!

And what about the local historic district? Wind turbines? Changing direction of State St. and/or Green St.? Does the owner of Oregano's mind that he did not open in time to make Tom Salemi's poll on the best pizza place?

According to this press release by Marlowe & Co., the Plum Island Foundation is a client.

As to what's new, ask either party.

Don't have time to ask questions I'm not getting paid to print the answers to. Unless I happen to run into someone that has the answers. That's what a newspaper is for.

I'm just a simple blogger seeking official status somewhere within a large company ...

oh, a strange cat just jumped into the house through the window I leave open for my cat.

Perhaps your cat meowed at the other cat and told s/he to come in and play.

Nah, he was asleep on the bed. Did not even twitch an ear to the distinct sound a cat makes when it jumps from the ledge in the window onto the wooden floor of the enclosed porch.

There is also a window between my living room and the bedroom. This cottage used to be just one room, with no bedroom or sanitary facilities. I keep that window open always to facilitate his not having to go around to get from sleeping place on bed to sleeping place on couch.
