Oh so now I got a 'good' Comcast customer service rep who right off the bat informed me that they are having 'issues' right now with their mail servers.
Not the ones customer service reps use, just the ones we use. Which explains why that idiot from before could access my email and I (and all you other Comcast customers) cannot.
Geesh.

What? The customer service reps have better hardware than the customers? Geez. Unbelievable.
Bela,
Well of course they do - I just wish the guy had realized that, since he works there and all, and thus would not have been inclined to insist that I was doing something wrong since he could access my email ...
Hi,
One suggestion:
don't use your Comcast email address as a primary address.
what happens if you move to a location that is not serviced by Comcast and therefore you cancel your Comcast service?
i always suggest using an email system that is not exclusively provided by your network provider. you don't want to link the two.
there are plenty of free email systems and many low-cost systems that will make sure that if you ever leave Comcast you don't have to change your email.
interesting note Ari (who by the way is a local ;-). its always interesting when new technologies are supported at a higher level than existing methods.
for instance, instant messaging ~3 years ago was the best way to communicate to a brokerage house. they wanted to make sure that the technology was utilized.
when you think about comcast. they certainly would rather you use their network to communicate with them versus Verizon or any other the other telecom providers.
thanks,
sds
