Shocking news about the landfill!

Really, Daily News?

Mayor John Moak is exploring the idea of filing an administrative order allowing the Board of Health to notify the owner of the Crow Lane landfill to cap it according to state regulations.
Hey, why didn't I think about writing that story before the DN got ahold of it?

They handed me that one ...

What about these comments he made?

Moak said that Thibeault knows a health department order has
been an option on the table for some time, but that Newburyport will
do nothing until it is released from New Ventures' demand that the
city pay for a hazardous waste cleanup at the site. That clean up is
required under Massachusetts General Law, Chapter 21E.
Newburyport Health Director Jack Morris said on Wednesday that
there have been no discussions with the Board of Health on an order,
and that "the legality of all this is still being reviewed by the city
solicitor."

I dont think Moak realizes what is in those piles at Woodwaste. He needs to understand that and what a mistake it would be to reopen the landfill before the trial. He's playing right into Nylen AGAIN. The man needs to go to trial.
