Wow a big old truck just delivered a not-quite-as-big (but pretty big) recycling bin to my house.
Industrial size, with wheels and everything.
I have no idea where to put it, but I guess it will live out in the yard.
It's huge!

Is it brown? They are an eyesore.
It's green, actually, with a black lid.
Rent it out as a cottage.
Good plan, Tom. My landlord's father actually (I think) joked when I moved in that I could rent the shed out, in the summer... it has curtains.
Was this a surprise ? I've been patiently waiting for mine to arrive.....Hello single stream !!!
Yes and no, Bubba. Molly Ettenborough had showed me a similar huge bin last fall but I thought perhaps they had abandoned the idea. And I've always done single stream ... I confessed this to her and have been absolved.
You gotta start reading the DN - there was a story a while back announcing that the bins would arrive in June...
PS, I didn't tip off the DN when I found out Moak this morning because I know how much you like to scoop 'em...
Awwwww, that's so sweet. Enabling my more competitive tendencies, but still sweet.
Well, The Bubba network predates twitter.
If you're looking for another scoop - it appears the the folks at G. Mello delivered some recycling bins to Newbury residents.
Well that and it appears that the Nbpt beach is going to get screwed out of any beach nourishment.
I think you just scooped me on the bin delivery.
re: beach nourishment - really? I'm going to the meeting Friday at PITA Hall. But Ron Barrett told me that this year's load was locked in, almost.
P.S. A certain DN reporter who covers Newbury reads the blogs ...
Well, I can understand the confusion re: the bins - but hey, the nbpt trash collectors have been picking up newbury trash for years - so that's really not all that new...
As for the beach work - check out the ConCom meeting minutes online - Nbpt granted an OC so that the sand can bypass us on the way to Newbury - not a single mention about newburyport. Just the sand pipes to Newbury that will be on the Nbpt beach. That's assuming that Bubba doesn't poke a few holes along the way :-) A little rude considering they want Nbpt to share in the cost don't you think ?
Hi Bubba:
I am not familiar with Nbpt's needs for the sand. Can you describle the location in Nbpt where we need the sand. Honestly, I'm not out there that often(long walk-could use a trolly)and I'm curious. I'll check out the concom minutes.
Also Bubba:
As for Newbury being rude, their motto there is "deserving of everything, obligated to nothing". I don't think that will change anytime soon.
There's an erosion hot-spot around 55th st. Given that Newbury and Salisbury are getting the bulk of the sand, it seems only fair that Nbpt get its share.
Bubba
I agree. Thanks for the info.
