Yes, Sweden's King Carl XVI Gutav will visit the beleaguered city of Flint next month, the Flint Journal announced today. Full story can be read here.
While we are all worried about A-frame signs and bike trails, the king is visiting the potential future site of a biogas plant.
Kettering [University] has been working with state and local officials on plans for Swedish Biogas International of Linkoping to build a plant in Flint.
The biogas plant would convert human waste for use as vehicle fuel and generate heat and electricity.
"He's a cutting edge kind of king," Flint Economic Development Director Suzanne Kayser said.
State officials are being tight-lipped about the king's itinerary (he is also visiting Detroit, to talk with automakers) ... gee, I can't think why!
