When animals attack

There are two - count 'em, two - stories about dogs going nuts in the Daily News.

Check that; they aren't going nuts in the Daily News as that sentence implies. They are going nuts in their neighborhoods.

First there's this story, about a dog of unspecified breed attacking two women here in Newburyport. It's a very short story.

Then there's this one, about two dogs - a boxer and a pit bull - attacking a horse in Salisbury. These 2 dogs crossed the border from *gasp* Seabrook, New Hampshire, the border apparently being in their owner's yard.

(Salisbury animal control officer Harold) Congdon said he believes the pit bull was the main attacker of the horse, and the boxer was joining in alternately. But he said he can't punish the dogs because they ran home to Seabrook, where officials said they plan to release the dogs to their owner.

This is a much longer story, but comments on both stories total 108 at the time I'm typing this.

Check out the thread of comments on the Newburyport story, made hilarious by the presence of our friend, Carrot.

The topic, however, is not hilarious. Try to keep that in mind as you chuckle.
