Needed: 70 volunteers for Chocolate Tour

Dear Friends,

The Chocolate Tour of Newburyport is celebrating its 6th year on May 16th.

There is a lot of excitement already and many, many volunteers are needed (men and women!).

This email is to ask each of you if you can share your time with us on May 16 to help make this event a success. The Chocolate Tour draws over 300 people to the event. It is fun for the locals, parents, kids, tourists, everyone!

Even the shop owners enjoy this fun time, something like “Halloween for Adults” but it’s for kids too.

The American Red Cross of Northeast Mass serves 15 communities: Amesbury, Beverly, Byfield, Essex, Gloucester, Hamilton, Ipswich, Manchester, Newbury, Newburyport, Rowley, Rockport, Salisbury, Wenham, and West Newbury. So if you can’t participate, maybe you know someone who can: pass along the info. It would be a great help.

If you have never been, this is a really fun event. It is a walking tour (the Pedicabs will be around also) with a map for guidance and descriptions of what each participating store will serve. Ticket Holders just stroll around getting free chocolate and check out the stores while there are at it.

The variety of chocolate from the stores is very diverse and interesting this year! Pink balloons in front the Tour Stops help identify participating stores. Bright pink flyers in shop windows give information to passersby.

Advance Purchase Tickets are now on sale at the following locations:

Red Cross office, 31 Greet Street, Newburyport
Ballontin Chocolates and Café on Unicorn Street
Valentines on Water Street
First National Bank of Ipswich, State Street Newburyport
Red Cross office in Beverly, 100 Cummings Center 978-922-2224

The Red Cross needs volunteers mostly for the Tour Stops. Tour Stops are the stores participating in the event.
