On Monday's agenda

The sure to be controversial issue of recompensing DPS Director Brendan O'Regan $18,000/yr. for running or assisting the consultant project manager in running the renovation of the sewer plant will be before the City Council on Monday.

I had heard of this about a month ago - and City Councillor Elect Bob Cronin went on a little rant about it during his interview with me on cable - so I'm sure that there will be 'discussion.'

I had heard that Mayor Moak rejected the plan. I also noticed that at the last public meeting about the project, O'Regan remained silent throughout.

Just to be clear ... O'Regan wants an extra $18K in his pay for supervising the construction? In addition to whatever we're paying the Project Manager?

Dick, well ... you and I were at that same meeting, where the project manager was introduced ... I looked at the backup for the transfer to fund the "stipend," and there is no mention of the project manager. But I believe O'Regan got a similar stipend for the PI water/sewer project, even when there was a project manager (who left before the project was finished).

I guess I don't understand why it isn't part of the job?
